Over the years, our experience has shown that even brand new OEM pumps direct from Subaru can be affected by inconsistencies in the assembly. In an effort to address the concerns of commonly flawed Subaru pumps, the IAG Stage 1 Blueprinted EJ25 11mm Oil Pump improves upon the factory pump by making key improvements for better overall performance.

 

RELIABILITY AND EFFICIENCY

Subaru EJ25 oil pumps should always be inspected before installation on any engine build, but we have found that Subaru has often been responsible for incorrectly torqued hardware as well as rotor tolerances that are not within specification. Inconsistencies in the oil pump can lead to insufficient oil pressure, with further potential to cause costly internal damage to your Subaru’s engine. THOROUGHLY INSPECTED

Each IAG Stage 1 Blueprinted EJ25 11mm Oil Pump is inspected to ensure that the rotor, hardware, and pressure relief valve are within the correct tolerance specifications. Each pump is also modified to increase oil pressure which aids in ensuring proper oil delivery. The pump is then assembled by our trained staff, providing you with a superior product that is ready to install, right out of the box.

 

MODIFIED FOR ENHANCED PERFORMANCE

The IAG Stage 1 Oil Pumps start as a new OEM Subaru pump with 11mm rotors. The pump is completely disassembled and checked for contaminants or debris from the manufacturer. The pump and all its components are then ultrasonically cleaned. Once the pump is free from impurities, it undergoes a modification process where the OEM Pressure Relief Valve Piston is REM polished, providing a low Ra surface, which reduces the friction of the component, and greatly reduces the chance of the piston galling or sticking in the bore - a problem that is frequently seen even on brand new oil pumps.

The piston is reinstalled and confirmed to operate correctly. The rotors are measured and checked to be within the manufacturer's specification - aka Blueprinted, and then installed. The pump is then put together with a light coating of assembly lube to reduce friction and scuffing and aid in priming on first start up. Finally, the backing plate is installed. Loctite is added to the hardware, and each piece receives a painted mark after it is correctly torqued.
