After the great success of the Kelford Cams 31mm DLC coated follower for Toyota and Nissan engines we have now produced a 35mm version of the bucket for Subaru EJ20 and EJ25 engines.

Kelford Cams has improved the OEM bucket design to include larger fillet radii, skirt ribbing and thicker follower face for improved stiffness and durability for racing engines. Then we apply DLC coating for improved wear resistance and its beneficial low friction properties.

Manufactured using high quality aerospace grade Chromoly steel which is machined, case hardened then precision ground to finished size within tight tolerances to ensure perfect clearances for your cylinder head. They are then polished and DLC coated on all sliding surfaces.

The DLC coating improves the service life of the follower by adding surface hardness and also reduces friction between the cam lobe. Less friction in the system means less heat generated, smoother moving parts and ultimately a happier engine, with the potential benefit of freeing up some horsepower.

These followers are suitable for high end motorsport applications as well as everyday use in performance street driven engines.

Kelford DLC Coated Cam Followers are available in many shim thickness options. They feature:

  • Larger internal fillet and reinforced skirt.
  • Increased rigidity increases both camshaft and bucket longevity.
  • DLC coated follower surface decrease friction
  • Decreases surface wear and oil temps
  • Improves torque required to turn the camshaft.

 

Note: There is a fixed internal length for each part number. Setting valve clearance (Lash) is required by adjusting valve tip heights, seat cut depth and camshaft base circle size.
